Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services is a SQL Server component that facilitates the ability of building flexible and powerful report. These reports can be delivered in a range of formats, and be presented using web or Windows-based applications.

In this course, you learn how to use the SSRS to extract business intelligence from your data, how to produce compelling reports with enhanced visualization features, how to integrate parameters, filters and interactive components into reports, and also how to deploy these reports.


Target Audience: 
This course is mainly intended for Database Administrators, Database Developers, Business Intelligence professionals, QA professionals, Data Analysts, and other roles responsible for developing SSRS solutions.

– Firm understanding of DWH concepts and terminology.
– Basic knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server database and table design.
– Familiarity with SQL, T-SQL and designing Stored Procedures.
– Basic understanding of the Microsoft Windows operating system.

Course Topics

Module 1 – Getting Started with SSRS:
Creating new reports, Adding items to the report, Arranging items, formatting items, saving the report.

Module 2 – Data Sources:
Create a new datasource, map report to a dataset, create new table, embedded datasets.

Module 3 – Controlling Header Rows:
Making header rows appear in each page, Keeping header rows visible when scrolling.

Module 4 – Numbers of Row per Page:
Using RowNumber, Changing the page size, creating groups, changing the page size, using parameters.

Module 5 – Groups:
Adding a parent group, Formatting, Nested Groups.

Module 6 – Calculated Fields:
Creating calculated fields, conditional functions, text function, date functions, concatenating text.

Module 7 – Conditional Formatting:
Using expressions to create conditions, using IF and SWITCH.

Module 8 – Gauges:
Adding a Gauge to a table, scales, Ranges and pointers.

Module 9 – SSRS Parameters:
Using parameters, parameter values, drop down list parameters, using nulls, cascading parameters.

Module 10 – SSRS Matrix:
Create new matrix, adding calculations, adding sub groups.
